PHOTOGRAPHER Steve Follows from Stafford, Staffordshire
has teamed up with music artists to produce a music single called 'Freedom' for
National Release in support for Help For Heroes. Musicians: Steve Follows, Derek
Holt and Mat Jones.Musicians

Steve Follows Lead Guitar and Rhythm, radio vocals. Steve says "This has been such an exciting challenge with the thoughts of raising as much money as we can for our injured troops and proud service men/women from war conflicts in the line of Duty” He added " Hope the UK likes the tune, It’s pure Brit”

He first met Steve in his teens; they were in a band together for some years in the mid-late 1980s with some success. Recently they hooked up again 'for a laugh' but things started to sound much better than they expected so when Steve asked him if he would be prepared to get involved he jumped at the chance. 'My step-dad was a corporal in the RAF for some 22 years, he was a Falklands Veteran and to be honest it affected him massively until he died, so you could say I also have some vested Interest in all this. It’s not just about the physical injuries; it'sabout the 'hidden' injuries too. Luckily MOST of us will never have to deal with the horrors of conflict but for those that do it can wreck their lives. I feel more needs to be done in this direction and anything we can do to help this would be fantastic!' Mat has been a semi-pro musician for 25 years or so, he is now registered disabled owing to a genetic condition called 'Hyper mobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome', has had to retire from live performance and has now retreated into the studio environment, he plays bass guitar, keyboards and does most of the geeky stuff behind the mixing desk. 'I've known Derek for a little while now and when Steve suggested the idea to me Derek very quickly sprung to mind as he has a fantastic track record, is a great song-writer and a jolly nice chap!'
Derek Holt Main vocals/ Bass/Guitar/Keyboards/songwriter.
Born in Stafford and whose father Bob served in the RAF stationed at the 16MU on Beacon side, during WW2, saw action in Tobruk and Egypt in North Africa and was away from home for two years. Derek has written and sung on hit records and is a founder member of Stafford’s Climax Blues Band, they had worldwide success with Couldn't Get It Right in 1976 and I Love You in 1981, I Love you has featured in 5 Hollywood films. Derek has played bass for people like Chuck Berry, Alvin Lee, Leslie West and Steve Howe, has toured the world with such acts as ZZ Top, Lynnyrd Skynnyrd, Dire Straits, The Eagles and BB King to name but a few. He has recorded over 25 albums and is excited about working alongside Steve and Mat on this project. Derek is proud to be involved in giving something back to those who have fought and are fighting for our freedom.
